Wild CAT-Scanning at The Big Cat Sanctuary

- A Tiger, a Clouded Leopard and a Cheetah

Our advanced mobile CT imaging played an important role this week for a tiger, a clouded leopard and a cheetah with unexplained and persistent mobility issues at The Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent.

Working alongside their incredible and dedicated team, our diagnostic veterinary radiographers performed detailed CT scans on three stunning, remarkable big cats: Luca, a four-year-old Amur Tiger, Django, a ten-year-old Mainland Clouded Leopard, and Mo, a four-year-old Southern African Cheetah.

   

Bringing our state-of-the-art mobile CT unit directly to the Big Cat Sanctuary meant the animals could stay in their familiar surroundings, reducing stress and keeping the process as calm and efficient as possible. For species that can find travel unsettling, that’s a major step forward in patient welfare.

The crucial partnership between The Big Cat Sanctuary, our specialist vets Elliot Simpson-Brown and Valerie Freeman, and Burgess Diagnostics has been vital in taking this significant next step towards understanding and resolving the mobility issues for Luca, Django, and Mo.”
