Supporting Canine Screening Programmes !

We are pleased to announce that we can now provide dedicated MRI sessions for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, supporting the British Veterinary Association scheme, which aims to reduce the incidence of Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia.

Chiari Malformation occurs when the dog’s brain is too large for the skull, restricting the opening to the spine and altering cerebrospinal fluid flow. This can lead to Syringomyelia, where fluid-filled cavities develop within the spinal cord, causing severe pain and profoundly affecting the dog’s quality of life.

Our goal is to make high-quality imaging easy to access, helping veterinary teams participate in screening initiatives that will contribute to long-term improvements in breed welfare.

For further details and to discuss arranging a mobile MRI screening session for your practice, please contact our Customer Support team at enquiries@burgessdiagnostics.com
